Shades of Earth Review (Spoiler Free)

While this review does not contain spoilers for said book, it does contain spoilers for the first and second books in this series.  Please read both of the other books before you read this review.

In the third and final book of the Across the Universe series, we find Amy, Elder and many of the Godspeed’s inhabitants plummeting towards Centauri-Earth.  While excitement runs high, their new planet isn’t at all like the paradise they’d imagined.  There are many things luring in the shadows waiting to attack the group of new settlers.  Soon they discover that they are not the only ones on this new planet, and if they want to stay they need to fight back.  Elder and Amy must race against time to discover who is attacking them if they have any hope of saving their little settlement.  To prevent risking everything they gave up to leave the Godspeed they need to figure out Centauri-Earth’s secrets, and fast.

I didn’t particularly like this book as much as the first two.  And it didn’t have anything to do with the cover change (I’m still a bit bitter over it though).  I feel like Amy was even more whiney than she was in the previous books.  It aggravated me when just about every other page she was whining to her parents or to Elder.  It was nice to see Elder and Amy’s relationship grow as they finally decide to be together officially even if her father doesn’t like them being together.

Then ending also felt a bit thrown together and rushed.  There was one part in the ending that I almost cried, but you guys will just have to read the book to find out why.

I also am missing my Harley even more so 😥

I gave this book 4/5 stars on Goodreads.
