I feel like I didn’t get very many books this month as I have cut down ordering from Barnes and Noble because of how pricey their books are. This month I ended up getting quite a few of these books on other discount sites or stores or I won them in a giveaway. With the amount of books in this list, I am not going to give a full description of each of these books. Without further a do, let’s get into the books!
1)Paper and Fire by: Rachel Caine
I don’t know too much about this book or the series it is a part of. What I do know is that there is a library and knowledge is regulated. Because of the weirdo that I am, I have yet to pick up these books because I want the series finished so I can binge read it. I probably won’t get to this series for a while, but at least I have the book in my possession.
2) H2O by: Virginia Bergin
When I heard the premises of this book I knew I had to have this one on my shelf. Only .27 percent of the population is still alive, but Ruby holds out hope that her father is still alive. She must battle the ever decreasing drinkable water supply and the killer rain to decide to risk it on her own or embark on a treacherous journey to find her father. Not to mention, this books cover is so beautiful with its strategic raindrop cutouts.
3) Recreated by: Colleen Houck
This is the second book in Colleen’s Reawakened series. I do not know much about it other than it has a lot of Egyptian mythology in it. I’m trying not to get into this series until it is complete because I want to binge read it all. If it is anything like her Tiger’s Curse series, I know I’m going to love it.
4) The Keeper of the Mist by: Rachel Neumeier
On my vacation I got to go back to the bookstore that I met Maggie Stiefvater in and peruse their shelves again. This particular book was there when I saw Maggie, but I didn’t have the extra cash to get it until now. This book is about a girl named Keri that is thrown into a powerful position after her estranged father’s death. She must overcome her fear of the spotlight to lead or risk losing it all.
5) The Heart of Betrayal by: Mary E. Pearson
This is the second book in the Remnant Chronicles. I don’t know much about this series other than it’s about a girl that runs away from an arranged marriage and a good guy and a bad guy are following her but you don’t know who is who. I really want to go into this series blind and discover this world for myself.
6) Nevernight by: Jay Kristoff
Yet another book I know little about. Honestly, I bought it because the author co-wrote one of my favorite books. This book looks like it will be a dark and epic fantasy and I’m super excited to dive right in!
7) Furthermore by: Tahereh Mafi
I got this ARC from a friend of mine and flew through it in a couple of days. I loved the book and the cover is to die for. Never have I felt a more “buttery” soft cover. I’m working on a review for this book currently.
8) Saga Vol. 6 by: Brian K. Vaughan
When I finally had some extra cash I knew I needed to pick this book up. This graphic novel series is amazing and this book does not disappoint! I’m working on my review of this series so keep an eye out for it.
9) The Beauty of Darkness by: Mary E. Pearson
This is the third book in the Remnant Chronicles.
10) P.S. I Like You by: Kasie West
Lily scribbles some song lyrics on her desk one day and the next day finds that someone has continued the lyrics and added a message. Soon they are sharing letters and secrets and Lily finds she is falling for her secret pen pal. As Lily tries to find out who he is, she must juggle school, friends, and family. But love isn’t always spelled out for us.
11) Beneath Wandering Stars by: Ashlee Cowles
After her brother is wounded in Afghanistan, Gabriela must honor her vow and walk the Camino de Santiago. But she must travel with her brither’s best friend-a boy she despises. With no time to waste she must decide if it’s worth risking her own happiness to keep her promise.
12) Ghostly Echoes by: William Ritter
This is the 3rd instalment of the Jackaby series. I loved the first two books in this series and hated waiting for this one to arrive on my doorstep. Probably by the time this goes up I’ll have finished this book and be dreading the wait for the next one. I’m also working on getting the reviews for this series up so stay tuned.
13) Orange: The Complete Collection 1 & 2 by: Ichigo Takano
I have seen this manga circle around Instagram and Youtube lately and it intrigued me enough to get them. Lately I have been in a manga/graphic novel mood after reading Saga. This manga is about a girl who gets a letter from herself 10 years in the future. Her future self tells of some regrets she would like fixed in her life. The girl blows it off until things said in the letter start coming true. She must learn to face her fears and find her voice if she ever wants a chance to change her future.
14) Little Women by: Louisa May Alcott
It’s sad to say that I have never read this book. I’ve heard a lot about the characters and the bond that these sisters have. I was so excited to find a copy of this book in the Puffin In Bloom edition for only $3.99! There was no way I could give up a deal that good! Needless to say, I can now get to reading this book hopefully sooner than later.
15) Name of the Star by: Maureen Johnson
I actually already have this book, but I could not pass up a $2 hardcover with deckled pages. Yes, I am that person that would rather have a hardcover than a paperback.
16) Tarnish by: Katherine Longshore
I don’t know much about this book other than it has to do with King Henry VIII. I kind of want to keep it that way and go into this book blind. I’ll definitely pick this book up when I’m in the mood for some historical fiction.
17) The Infinate Sea by: Rick Yancey
This is yet another book that I already have, but in paperback. I found the hardcover for $2 and decided to part with my paperback.
18) The Ranger’s Apprentice Book 8 by: John Flanagan
I picked this book up because I want to complete my collection of the Ranger’s Apprentice books, but didn’t find out until I got home that it is a completely different edition from the ones I already own.
