September Wrap Up (2016)

Well, this month was a bit of a let down in the reading department compared to last month.  Granted I did have a week-long vacation last month, but still, I wish I was able to read a bit more this month than I did.

1)Ghostly Echoes by: William Ritter 4/5 Stars

Jackaby is back with more mysteries, and things are starting to get really complicated.  As this is the third book in a series, I don’t want to say too much because fo spoilers. I flew though this book and I desperately need the next book.  Overall, I loved third book and getting to delve deeper into this world and learn more about the characters.

2) Rot and Ruin by: Jonathan Maberry 4/5 Stars

With my zombie withdrawal in full swing, I decided to finally pick this book up off my shelf.  I tried reading this book a few years ago, but only got about a third of the way into it before i put it down for a different book.  Now I’m kicking myself for doing so because legit within the next 4 pages were I initially left off fit hit the shan hard-core.  I loved this book and am currently bingeing the rest of them.

3) The Invention of Hugo Cabret by:Brian Selznick 4/5 Stars

This book has been on my radar for years, but I just never picked it up.  I ended up grabbing my brother’s copy and read it.  The illustrations were amazing and added a lot to the story.  I cannot say that I was at all disappointed with this book.

4) Miss Peregine’s Home For Peculiar Children by: Randsom Riggs 5/5 Stars

With the release of the movie, I knew I had to pick this book up this month.  This book sat on my shelf for a while as I was waiting for the third book to come out in paperback so I could binge read the series, but with the movie coming out, that was not an option so I picked up the book.  I loved all the photographs that were in the book and they definitely added a ton of character to the book.  Overall, I loved this book and it’s story and I still have yet to go see the movie.

Even though this month was a bummer for reading, I still got to read a few really great books.  I’m definitely hoping to read a bunch more next month and have a crazy tbr planned. What are some of the books you got to read in September?
