March Book Haul (2017)

Yay!  Even more books!  I love being able to haul these books for you guys and show off how my collection is growing.  This month I got quite a few new releases that I cannot wait to get to.

1) Blue Exorcist (Vol. 2-5) by: Kazue Kato

About a month ago, my brother convinced me to watch an anime that he thought I would really like.  now, my brother and I have different likes and dislikes when it comes to anime. A lot of times when he recommends me a show I don’t end up watching more than the first couple of episodes, but this show.  This show was amazing and I needed more!  Blue Exorcist was so funny and yet it had a bunch of serious moments as well.  Only after I watched all the episodes did I find out that it didn’t follow the manga.  So, if you know me, I had to start getting the manga so I could grasp the real story.  I’m so excited to dive into these books!

2) Lifeblood by: Gena Showalter

This book is the sequel to Everlife.  I have not read either of these books, but I do know it is about a girl name Tenley.  There are 2 rival afterlives you can choose from when you die, but Tenley’s choice will affect which afterlife wins the battle.  This synopsis really grabbed my attention.  I need to get to these books as soon as possible!

3) The Ship Beyond Time by: Heidi Heilig

This book is the sequel to The Girl From Everywhere.  I have also not read either of these books, But I plan on getting to them fairly soon.

4) The Bone Witch by: Rin Chupeco

As soon as I saw the ARCs for this book I knew I had to have a beautiful copy for my shelves.  When Tea shows an affinity for necromancy, she leaves her homeland to study under an wise bone witch.  While away, war is brewing between the eight kingdoms that could threaten the survival of everyone Tea holds dear to her.  She must train hard and become the strongest bone witch that she can be.

5) P.S. I Still Love You by: Jenny Han

This is the sequel to To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.  I’ve heard a lot of great things about this series, and since the third book is coming out soon I thought I would snag this book so I can read them right away.

6) Long May She Reign by:Rhiannon Thomas

Being 23rd in line to the throne, Freya never dreamed shed ever be on the throne until a tragic event thrusts her into the highest position in the kingdom.  Yet no one respects her or listens to her.  She can’t trust anybody either.  Her loyalties are tested and she must decide if she is really cut out to rule or not.  This book sounds amazing!  I need to pick it up soon, but my TBR pile is so large.

7) Starfall by: Melissa Landers

This is the sequel to Starflight.  I’ve been in the mood for a good sci-fi series lately.  Although, I’ve heard that this series might not get finished due to lack of people buying it.  I have yet to read them, but I find that very sad when I’ve seen so many people with these books.

8) The Hate U Give by: Angie Thomas

With all of the events that have been happeneing in the United States recently this book brings light to a big issue; racism.  After Starr moves from a poor black neighborhood to the fancy suburbs, she witnesses the murder of her childhood best friend at the hands of a police officer.  What Starr says or doesn’t say could change things for her and everyone involved.  I’ve heard so many good things about this book and can’t wait to see how it unfolds myself.

9) Glitter by: Aprilynne Pike

This book takes place in Versailles! I repeat, this book takes place in Versailles!  This makes the historical nerd in me very happy!  The main character has to go to extreme measures and sells the drug Glitter to be able to afford and escape from her arranged marriage.  This book sounds like it will be one wild ride!

10) The Daughter of the Pirate King by: Tricia Levenseller

I don’t know what it is with YA and pirates all of a sudden, but I am so onboard for it!  I got this book in my March Owlcrate, and I need to get to it! I’m really looking forward to reading about a strong willed, outgoing female version of Jack Sparrow!

11) Bungo Stray Dogs (Vol. 1&2) by: Kafka Asagiri

For the past few months this anime has been capturing my attention.  Every one of the characters is named after an author and has powers based on the work of literature that made the author famous (Example: John Steinbeck has the Grapes of Wrath power where he can create vines and control plants).  I recently found out that the manga is being translated into English so I purchased these two books and preordered the next two.

12) Wait For Me by: Caroline Leech

I was sold on the fact that this book is set in Scotland.  Set in 1945, Lorna’s family is assigned a German prisoner of war to help them out on their farm.  As Lorna spends more time with Paul she learns of the boy behind the soldier.  As she starts battling her own heart tensions are rising and she must decide what she’s willing to give up before the end of the war determines their fate.

13) Transcendent by:Katelyn Detweiler

I picked this book up at an Indie bookstore near me just because I had read the authors previous book, Immaculate.  I’m hoping this book is as good if not better than her other one.

14) Sherlock: A Study in Pink by: Steven Moffat, Mark Gatiss, Jay

SHERLOCK!  Need I say more?  I am obsessed with this fictional man.  When I fould this manga adaptation of the TV series, I needed to have it whatever the price.  I’m so excited to read this over and over again!

How do I keep ending up getting so many books every month?  I don’t feel like I spend that much money, but it always seems like I get a crud ton of books.  Anyways, a good majority of the books I got this month are sequels that I still need to get around to reading the first book.  I really need to get cracking with my reading again!
