October Wrap Up ’17

I think my reading slump is still here :(.  I have been quite busy lately and just haven’t had too much time to actually sit down and read, and when I do have time I fall asleep a few minutes after starting to read.  At least this month was filled with a few books that I really did enjoy.

1) Replica by: Lauren Oliver 4/5 Stars

This book was a fairly quick read for me.  I loved that fact that you could read each story individually or in alternating chapters.  I chose to do the latter, and loved to see the perspective of both girls as the storylines progressed and intermingled with each other.

2) Kate & Jesse by: Erin Bowman 5/5 Stars

I read Vengeance Road by Erin Bowman about a year ago, and I’ve been sorely missing the characters ever since.  When I found out that I could get a short story following Kate & Jesse in the preorder campaign for Retribution Rails I pounced on it.  The events in this short story proceed the events in Vengeance Road, and it is a nice filler before jumping into the upcoming companion novel.

3) All the Crooked Saints by: Maggie Stiefvater 5/5 Stars

This book took me the longest to read out of the few I read this month.  Not because it was a big book, but because I wanted to savor every single word that my favorite author had written.  I love, love, loved this book!  Of course I’m always a huge fan of Maggie’s writing style, but I feel like she did a bit more with this book.  I’m so glad I took my time with this book, but I’m also sad that I’ll have to wait a long while for the next book from Maggie.

Even though I didn’t get to man books this month I still feel like I won considering how highly I rated the books I did read.  I’m hoping that next month I’ll be able to read a bit more as I know I have a few really highly anticipated books on my TBR.
